OUR 7th ANNIVERSARY! JULY 27, 2020

As I share this email with you, know that all of us at Mama's House are remembering to pray for all of our friends around the country during this time of turmoil, and welcome your replies or calls for specific prayers!  We believe that good, good days are ahead! Be encouraged as the Lord our God said, "Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10

It seems like yesterday that we opened the doors of this home where love lives. That day in 2013, our 1st resident Heather arrived and my 9th grandchild was born at almost the same time!  Please visit this link and read that special story written in celebration of our 5th Anniversary!  Since that day, more than 245 mothers and babies have been at Mama’s House. Things have changed significantly since those early days and now with our in-house developed Pathway To Success program, along with participation in the CORP program, developed by former Indio Police Chief Richard Twiss, we can boldly state “there is no other home for women in crises pregnancies in the USA with such an extensive program.” Upon completing the 1-year minimum stay, the residents of Mama’s House will have worked for and received the necessary tools required for a better future.

Never could I have imagined how abundantly God would bless this ministry and it is for that reason l will never stop telling of the Lord’s excellent greatness.  The goodness He showers on Mama’s House can only be attributed to trusting in Him to care for us going forward - even in these most uncertain times - as He has cared and provided for our needs from the beginning. So, day after day, we continue to love and nurture our residents toward success.  There are joyous highs as they make their way past addictions and despair, and there are lows that bring us to our knees.  Such is any ministry that comes face to face with women who are hopeless and in heartbreaking, desperate situations.  We know we are making a difference, whether or not we see the fruit of our labor.  Please follow this link and read about our 100% success rate. It is understood by all of us that we simply cannot do this good work without the special people whose hearts have also been touched to come alongside Mama’s House. Those people are our donors and the volunteers, known as Mama Mia’s.  All are critical to the organization’s success and serve in a multitude of areas: teachers and tutors; mentors; drivers; mechanics; handiwork; art projects and classes; babysitting; nursing; office help; fundraising; outreach; marketing; etc.  Please consider attending a Coffee Club meeting to know more and maybe join us!

We regret not being able to host our usual Anniversary Open House due to the pandemic, but encourage you to help us celebrate with cards or emails that we will display at Hope Center!  The purchase of a paver, start of a monthly gift, or a donation of any amount are always welcome and greatly appreciated.  Hope Center, our counseling and educational center, was gifted to us, first by an anonymous donor the first 2 years, followed by Church at The Red Door for 6 months.  We would be so grateful for help from another church or individual to help cover this over $3,000 monthly expense.  This suite enables us to do so much more with our residents and also offer much needed programs to the community, a critical component of our ministry.

We are preparing for the 8th Annual HEARTbeat of LOVE Luncheon benefitting Mama’s House.  This event has grown exponentially over the years, in attendees and dollars raised, vital to meet  increasing needs. In January, we had our best event to date upon announcing the Mama’s House Expansion Project. The need for more beds to serve moms and children was great before the pandemic, now it cannot be completed quickly enough as more women find themselves jobless, homeless and without support!  Money raised the first of the year allowed us to secure a large parcel of land with an existing home we are calling “Mama’s House 2” that will house up to 8 women in the coming months.  Upon completion of the entire project over the next 2 to 3 years, we will almost quadruple the number we currently serve. HELP SUPPORT MAMA'S HOUSE! We don’t want you to miss the 8th HEARTbeat of Love Luncheon, February 6, 2021.  To add friends and family to our mailing list or to receive sponsorship information that includes tickets to the VIP Reception to be held on February 5th, please email info@themamashouse.org  Watch for our speaker announcement card to arrive in the mail in September!

Thank you for caring about the precious women, babies and children we serve at Mama’s House and Hope Center.  It’s been a great 7 years and we look forward to many more by the grace of God, as “we don’t have the right to claim that we have done anything on our own, He gives us all it takes to do all we do.”  II Corinthians 3:5 cev

May God continue to bless you and your families abundantly and in ways you cannot imagine!
